A garden of roses for Rita

Rome gave St Rita, the “saint of roses”, a double celebration last 22 May. Twenty-two students of the Accademia di Belle Arti in the Italian capital offered a “rose of art” to the Patroness of Impossible Causes in a collective display conceived of especially for the Sala Santa Rita, a splendid Baroque monument attributed to Carlo Fontana. Exhibited were works made using various art techniques, strewn over the paving to look like a garden of roses for the saint from Cascia.
