The first woman and the first lay woman
A double record for Prof. Ana Maria Jorge, appointed head of the Theology Faculty of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP); in fact she is both the first woman and the first lay woman to hold this office. With a degree in History which she gained at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and a doctorate in Historical Sciences from the University of Louvain, Jorge teaches Ecclesiastical History and the History of Christianity.
