· The Pope’s homily for the visit to Gemelli hospital ·
Due to an “unforeseen indisposition” Pope Francis was unable to make his visit to Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome, which had been planned for Friday afternoon, 27 June, for the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding. The Mass in the plaza fronting the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart School of Medicine was presided by Cardinal Angelo Scola, Archbishop of Milan and President of the Giuseppe Toniolo Institute. Cardinals Vallini, Ravasi, Sgreccia and others concelebrated the Mass along with several archbishops and bishops, including Bishop emeritus Claudio Giuliodori of Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia, Ecclesiastical Assistant General of the Catholic University. During the celebration, Cardinal Scola read the homily prepared for the occasion by Pope Francis.
