An important position was taken by the Dominican Republic’s Bishops’ Conference which, in a pastoral letter, pointed out the most urgent threats to women and to the promotion of their dignity. The bishops exhort the local authorities to remain vigilant to ensure that the application of the law prevents violent men from harming a vital part of our society. “No to violence against women in the family, in the work-place and in society”.
