· Message for World Communications Day ·
In a world that seems to be getting smaller thanks to developments in transportation and communication technology there is still division between people. The Pope wrote this in his message for World Communications Day. We are connected, he writes, and “globalization makes us increasingly interdependent”. We need only walk the streets of a city to see the contrast between the opulence of the rich and misery of the poor. And it is here that, according to Pope Francis, the media can truly bring “us closer together... making us more connected” and helping us to promote a culture of authentic encounter.
