“Mission and peoples, two realities that have constantly travelled through the pages of our periodical in the past 80 years of its history, naturally interwoven with the passionate lives of women who were consecrated at the encounter with the peoples”. With these words Sr Luzia remembers the birthday of the periodical Combonifem that was born with the name of “Raggio”. “We want”, the Comboni Superior General continues, “‘our’ pages to continue to be pages open to the contrast between many voices, many lives, many hopes and many projects. It is splendid to celebrate to remind us of all this and to reaffirm it: to remember and to celebrate, to say ‘thank you’ and to carry out projects together. From its birth this little paper wanted to make known what God was doing through his daughters the Comboni Missionary Sisters, to make known the peoples among whom they live, to arouse in those who read these “acts of the apostles” wonder, compassion, the wish to take part in their life adventure. The pamphlet has grown, now it has a cover and a different language, but it continues to invite us to turn the page, faithful to its vocation to show us, with a woman’s gaze, the great evangelical joy of sharing. In these 80 years the Pamphlet-Raggio-Combonifem has helped and helps us to understand how people who set out overcome the fear of crossing the frontiers of prejudice, how they open up to accepting the different, interweave dreams and hopes of another world and can discover that passion and that “joy” that give a sense of life here and now”.
