A charism of consolation

· Interview with Sister Carmen Ros Nortes ·

Open to God’s surprises. The invitation that the Pope extends to the faithful, and especially to the consecrated, calls women in religious life in a special way, calling them from all different backgrounds to respond. In this interview with the L’Osservatore Romano, the Spanish Sister Carmen Ros Nortes of Our Lady of the Consolation, Undersecretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life spoke of this call.

Regarding her own role in the dicastery, where she has worked “for many years”, Sister Carmen explained: “It is a great help to know that the Pope encourages us, and to hear what the Church and the world expect from the Congregation, our lifestyle and our mission. For the rest, my experience is the fruit of a long journey that I began in 1992, working for a period of time with each of the different sectors of the dicastery, especially with those who work in training and development as well as regular governance, life and apostolate. I sought always to contribute who I am and what I have, the richness of the charism of consolation.
