Benedict XVI’s crib

This year too the Nativity scene in the private apartments of Benedict XVI has a familiar atmosphere: indeed it is set in Largo San Martino against the Leonine Walls, in front of the church dedicated to St Martin of Tours and St Sebastian the Martyr, Patrons of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. In the background the Apostolic Palace can be seen and, on the right side, Bernini’s colonnade. The crib was created by the Floristry Department, with the collaboration of electricians of the Technical Services of the Governorate of Vatican City State and personnel of the Vatican Museums.
