An applause for mothers

· At the Regina Caeli the Pope recalls that love is nourished by small daily gestures ·

To live out the love that Christ taught us, all we have to do is make small gestures of closeness everyday to the elderly, children, the sick, the unemployed, immigrants and refugees.

Pope Francis said this at the Regina Caeli on Sunday, 10 May, in St Peter's Square. At the end of the Marian prayer, the Holy Father invited all those present to applaud the moms in the square in honour of Mother's Day. “Today Mother’s Day is celebrated in many countries. Let us recall with gratitude and affection all of our moms. Now I will address the mothers that are here in the square: are there any? Yes? Are there any moms? An applause for them, for the mothers in the square ... This applause embraces all the mothers, all of our dear mothers, those who live with us and and those who are with us in spirit. May the Lord bless them all, and may Our Lady, to whom this month is dedicated, protect them”.
