· The Pope underlines the charitable work of the bishops of Ethiopia and Eritrea on their 'ad limina' visit ·
Pope Francis thanked the bishops of the Episcopal Conference of Ethiopia and Eritrea for their efforts in assisting the suffering in the region, due to the “many years of conflict”, including poverty and drought conditions which have brought great suffering to the people. At the audience this morning, Friday, 9 May, the Pope urged the bishops on their ad limina visit to intensify evanglization. “In our own day,” the Holy Father said, “we require again this missionary spirit to announce the saving message of new life in Christ to all of society, not only to those who do not know him, but also to the faithful, so they may hear once more the freshness of the Gospel and be encouraged to find ever new and creative ways to live and celebrate their faith”.
